“It’s good to have lunch with women that have more on their mind

than what’s for lunch.” —  Dr. Johnnetta Cole

For five years the Working Women's Wednesdays series, offered by the Women's Resource Center, has provided the best in professional development for women in our community.  As one of the most successful networking and education events in North Carolina, WWW offers dynamic speakers, including movers and shakers in business, education, and government.  Our speakers provide insights into business strategies, leadership styles, unique marketing tools, career paths, their successes and their struggles.  This series is an amazing opportunity to hear from women of proven power and influence.

"Worth Writing About:

What I've Learned from the Women

of North Carolina."

August 27, 2008

A lifelong native of North Carolina, Elizabeth Hudson graduated with a degree in English and a minor in Environmental Studies from the UNC-Greensboro.  She began her publishing career at Our State magazine in 1997, where she has held titles ranging from circulation and editorial assistant to assistant editor, associate editor, managing editor, and senior editor.  Hudson developed and created Our State’s successful Down Home Series, five single-title issues that covered topics like Small Towns, Diners, Inns, Day Trips, and Weekends, and she is currently the editor of Our State’s sister publication, North Carolina Signature magazine, which debuted with a 75,000-copy distribution in Spring 2007.  Some pretty extraordinary women have been profiled including nine amazing entrepreneurs, female celebrity chefs, fabulous writers, artists, interior designers, and even a winemaker!  Elizabeth will share what she has learned from these amazing women!
