For seven years the Working Women's Wednesday series, offered by the Women's Resource Center in Alamance County has provided the best in professional development for women in our community.  As one other the most successful networking and educational events in North Carolina, dynamic speakers, including movers and shakers in business, education, and government have provided insights regarding business strategies, leadership styles, unique marketing tools, career paths, successes and struggles...an amazing opportunity to hear the latest from women of proven power and influence.

The Sallie Bingham Center for Women's History and Culture acquires, preserves and makes available to researchers materials that reflect the public and private lives of women. Laura Micham and Kelly Wooten will describe how they share women's stories by collecting the letters, diaries, and personal papers of individuals and familie. The records of women's organizations, books and magazines written by, for, and about women are preserved as well. The Bingham Center hosts exhibits and innovative programming such as dramitic readings, film festival, and academic symposiums that bring together donors, students, scholars, and the general public.

Laura Micham is the Director of the Sallie Bingham Center for Women's History and culture, part of Duke's Rare Book, Manuscript, and Special Collections Library.  Kelly Wooten  is the Research Services and Collections Development Librarian for the SBC.  Before joining the staff at Duke in 2006, she was the Public Relations and Annual Giving coordinator for UNC's Health Science Library. She currently serves on the board of Girls Rock NC and is a native of Alamance County.
